Badghis Province, Western Afghanistan — During a break on our way back to Herat City (coming from a field mission in Qala-i-Naw, Badghis) I noticed this truck driver having a tea break in a corner of the shop where we had our snacks. Afghans loves to drink tea (or Chai as they call it) and is considered as the most popular beverage. Unlike the Philippines where there are a variety of flavors, in Afghanistan they only have two (green tea and black tea). Green tea is usually served during the summer/hot months and black tea is usually served during the cold/winter months.
